Introduction
ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles quickly deletes empty (zero-byte) files in the folder you choose. You can choose to recursively process the folder if you wish.
Quick Start
To use ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles, right-click on a folder in Windows Explorer and choose "ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles..." from the context menu.
In the dialog box that appears, just click "Do It" to do it!
That's it!
Do It performs the operation.
Preview previews the operation.
Explore opens the selected folder in Windows Explorer.
Set... chooses a new folder to process.
If
Exit When Done is checked, ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles will exit after Doing It.
If
Recursive is checked, all folders below the chosen folder will be processed also.
Show Log/Hide Log shows/hides the operations log.
The system menu (in the upper left corner of the window) has a few menu commands:
Preferences allows you to edit the INI file to set additional options.
About displays information about ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles.
Save Log save the the contents of the log to a text file you choose.
Copy Log copies the contents of the log to the clipboard.
More Hints
- You can drag a file or folder to the ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles window to set the folder to process.
- Delete the preference file "ThisFolder DeleteEmptyFiles.ini" to reset all preferences to the default.

Installation
To install ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles, use the installer, ThisFolderDeleteEmptyFiles1023.exe.
A standard uninstaller is included. You can uninstall ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles by going to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Preferences
For most purposes, there is no need to change your preferences. However, there are
several useful options available for people who want to control exactly how ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles works.
Preferences for ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles are stored in a standard INI file. You can edit this file
and restart ThisFolder: DeleteEmptyFiles to set your preferences.
The file "ThisFolder DeleteEmptyFiles.ini" should be located in the same
folder as "ThisFolder DeleteEmptyFiles.exe" unless you are using a -pref command line
parameter to point to a different
INI file. Preferences override command-line options.
If no INI file is found, the following default file will be created:
